Post 4: Will we see something?
Lately I've been a bit skeptical. I have
had the opportunity to work in various spaces that seek to generate social
changes, work on issues such as patriarchal, masculinity, speciesism,
ethnicity, intersections in oppression. Sometimes it is a bit hard to notice
that, in many spaces, although there are good intentions, they continue replicating
the logics of domination, in very implicit acts. The patriarchal is incorporate
in everything and everyone. I am surprised, above all, that in many spaces
where people struggle for emancipation, the order of domination is not
questioned; the origin is the authority. But still, you can find spaces where
we talk about "fighting for power" instead of "fighting against
power", as if power were a thing to aspire to, as if the power is not a
form of relationship that must be suppressed. Patriarchy goes so far that, even
in our forms of struggle against hegemonic, we accept that ideology that all
our lives have taught us: who has the power is the model to follow. Thus, we
keep fighting to get to have the same rights as them, without noticing that
many of those rights are nothing more than the right to dominate others. If we
still do not see this, some day we will see something of that society to which
we aspire?
